Location: Anawim Project, Birmingham B12 9RJ 
Grade:  SCP 21 - 25
Salary:  £20,716 - £23,281 per annum
Hours:  37 hours per week with flexibility to work occasional evenings & weekends plus a full driving license, business insurance and use of own vehicle

Background to the project:

Anawim was originally founded by the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity. They invited Father Hudson’s Society to work with them in partnership to develop the work, and their joint vision and ethos continue to inspire the project. Anawim seeks to support women who are vulnerable due to poverty, homelessness, abuse, rape, addictions, and may be drawn into prostitution and/or offending as a consequence. It recognises prostitution as exploitation of women. All staff, whether working in a paid or voluntary capacity, are expected to respect and work to the core values of respecting others, valuing all, and belief in the possibility of a life lived to the full.

Background to this post:

Applicants for this post need to have experience of working with women with offending, mental health issues and other multiple needs.

Aim of the post:

To work as part of the Liaison & Diversion team within the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust with women at arrest to support them with their needs as a diversion from the criminal justice system. Holding a caseload offering direct holistic support and access into the courses and services offered at Anawim. The Women mostly will have suffered trauma, so be emotionally dysregulated, may be abusing substances or have a personality disorder. You will work alongside the psychologist who will assess women for suitability for the range of psychologist led therapeutic courses. You would also work with the courts to increase the use of the Mental Health Treatment Requirement while working alongside the existing team of Anawim caseworkers and psychology assistants.
