A report by The Centre for Social Justice highlighting that social breakdown, such as adverse childhood experiences, can be linked to offending behaviour; this finding disproportionately applies to women. It states that effective interventions include developing women’s thinking skills, building strong relationships with the community and supporting women to find self-confidence. The report recommends that to achieve this funding should be redirected from community prisons to supporting women to be a part of the community.
